CT's Birthday and Some Fishing

Well, for some reason, something went weirdly wrong with my pictures and I can't figure out how to get my text to go above them. Whatev.

All of the above pics are from this weekend when I went home and Philip came with me. We didn't get there until about 9 on Friday night because we left after Philip got off work and then we stopped to eat.

Saturday was low key. We went to Graham's to "fish" although we didn't catch anything. As you can see from the pictures Graham caught a small fish and all Philip caught was me haha. And I didn't catch a thing. I took Philip to Dave's Deli for lunch, me and Lizzie's hidden gem. He liked it too.

That night we went to eat at Yuki for CT's 18th birthday. I can't even believe it! We came home and had cookie cake, watched the Kentucky-UConn game and got in the hot tub. And I got to see Abbie. Yay!

We had to head back early Sunday morning because I had to attend a rush workshop. After that I had a nice afternoon at the pool and then Philip and I went to a movie night on campus which was fun.

I have definitely been enjoying the warm weather (except yesterday was kind of chilly) and have been to the pool Sunday, Monday and today! I am obsessed with the pool. Always have been.

On to the "shocking" news, which really isn't that shocking...Roommate Lo and I have to move out of our apartment and into another 2 doors down. It's a long story, and it's going to be a pain, but it will be okay. It's kind of been stressful and will continue to be until we get settled into our new house. And that's all I'm going to say about that. I am moving Friday and Saturday so wish me luck!

Also, Liz and I discovered Gourmet Tiger today. This could be bad.

Have a great day!

Oh, Formal

Saturday night was my 5th formal event (including semi-formals, too) and as usual, it was a blast!

Lucky for me, I always have the cutest, sweetest, most fun date there!

Formal is always a special time for Philip and me because if it wasn't for me not having a date to formal 2 years ago, we would've never met! This is a reenactment of our very first picture we ever took together  almost 2 years ago. We accidently were standing on the wrong side, but oh well!

How am I so lucky blessed?

I love this picture of Jake and Philip "kiting" Liz and me!

Typical.

Cohort C represent

We had some issues on the bus ride back. The bus we were on blew a tire so everyone on our bus had to get off and pile on another bus so to create more room everyone sat on their date's lap. Talk about togetherness. But it was fun!

I can't believe I only have one spring formal left. I almost cried after this one, just thinking about it.

Yesterday, Philip, Graham and I went to to driving range and I don't know WHY I didn't take any pictures. Oh well. Maybe next time!

Hope everyone had as good of a weekend as I did!!

MEX '11

Well, I've finally gotten around to blogging about Spring Break! This first week back has been even crazier than usual, with some rather shocking news that I will share at a later date. Everything is fine though, I just want to focus on Mex in this post!

Mex was amazing, as it has been the past 2 Spring Breaks. It's always just such a humbling experience, to see these people who have nothing, but who are so giving and so thankful for what they do have. I think what one of the men we were building for said pretty much sums it up. He and his wife (who are both about 18 years old and have 2 kids) were SO excited and beyond grateful as their furniture for their new casita was being delivered. He was almost in tears as he looked at us and said, "You don't understand. We have nothing. The only thing that is completely ours is our children."

And now, I'll let the pictures do the talking (kind of)

Our whole team in front of La Familia (where we stay)

CT and I laying some bricks

My team built a bakery and the baker would bake us treats every day. It was awesome.

And what would a trip to the Soriana be without seeing our favorite ice cream man, Luis!?

Lucas, the baker, we built for

About to mix some stucco, my favorite part of building!

This little boy, Juan, completely stole my heart

My parent's Mardi Gras beads made it all the way to Mexico!

All the Mexers in front of La Familia

Cousins forever

I loved this little girl who lived across the street from the baker. Clearly, the feeling was mutual haha.

Love this picture of the neighborhood kids playing with a balloon

CT and I with our maestro, Simon! He would always come up to me and say, "Too much blah, blah blah! Not enough work!" He started this on the first day which Philip would hilarious.

So that is my trip in a nutshell. If you just can't get enough, I've got more pictures on Facebook! Haha.

Have a lovely weekend!

Well...

If you know me in person (which if you're reading this, I'm sure you do), you probably know that I did not get to to to New Orleans this past weekend. And you probably know I'm really upset about it. So that's all I'm going to say about that. :
So here's what I've been up to lately,

Last Monday was my dear friend, Liz's birthday, but we celebrated Wednesday (as in a week from today)

We all had a great time. HAPPY 21ST LIZ!!!!

Thursday, we had a "Sisters and Strokes" party in the chapter room and I painted this!

In case you didn't know, it is Toomer's Corner. I can't decide where I'm going to hang it yet. I'm very pleased with it except for the slightly large trunk, but oh well, ya can't win 'em all haha.

Friday night was Chili's and bowling with some friends
a

And Saturday, Philip called on his way home from work and wanted to see if I wanted to go eat lunch at Niffer's, ummm duh! So that was a nice little surprise. Saturday was also Nicole's birthday (so many birthdays lately. I feel like every other post I'm typing Happy Birthday! haha) and we celebrated by eating at Outback, which unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of! Boo! But Happy Birthday to Nicole! We love you!!

This week (at least the first part) has been filled with school work and Theta work. Thankfully, as of an hour ago, I am finished and now just get to look forward to Mex!! Yay!! One class away from Spring Break!

Enjoy the rainy day (I definitely am.. NOT)!

One Week Till NOLA!

One week from today, Philip and I will be headed to New Orleans for the weekend! I'm so excited my cousins invited us to come down and stay with them for Mardi Gras. I've never been and yes, I know to expect some raunchiness, but I think it'll be a lot of fun!

My parents and my Aunt Jo and Uncle Eddie are also going down to stay with my aunt and uncle so hopefully we will get to see them some. My parents, Philip, or I have never been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, so this should be an experience!

But as for this weekend, I am at home home. I didn't tell my mom I was coming and she was pleasantly surprised. I got home last night and I have to leave early tomorrow to be back for Founder's Day, but I'm glad to get a little visit home in.

Have a great weekend!

Oh, How I Wish I Didn't Want

I wish I didn't have wants. I wish I didn't know even know who Kate Spade was or that J. Crew existed. But unfortunately, I do and here are some things I have been wanting.

These Tory Burch flats. I love the orange. Yes, I do think they would be cute for games and such, but I also just think orange is a cute accent color when used the right way. I would take these in any color though.

I'm in love with this Anthropologie dress. I want it to be my Easter dress so bad.

I found this adorable dress when I went to Antrho.com to look at the yellow dress. I always have to look at the sale stuff, just to see. And I saw this. And, (you knew it was coming) perfect for football games! I am in love.

A headband wrap thing. I don't even know what they're officially called, but I love them. I don't necessarily want a silk one, but this was the best thing that came up by typing "headband wrap" into Google image. This one is from Nordstrom's, I believe.

I'm sure there are a lot more things I want, but these were the main ones I could think of right now. Hope everyone's having a great day. I am so glad I'm feeling much better today! Happy Tuesday!

I Love Weekends

All weekends are amazing, but this one was just especially so. I am very fortunate that I always have 3 day weekends. College of Ed. loves no class Fridays haha. I happened to have a 4 day weekend this time though since my Thursday class got canceled.

Thursday night was the Valentine's Date Party with my sorority.

I took my Valentine's date haha and we had a good time!

A typical picture in which Philip didn't want to smile.

Jamie M's birthday was Thursday and to celebrate we had a sleepover Friday night and so LIZZIE CAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I just stayed with the Jamie's all weekend instead of just Friday night. It was awesome.

So on Friday night, Jamie, Jamie, Lizzie, Julie, Amanda, Cyrus, Tausif and Asif and I all went to Tiger Nights

where we got these lovely trucker hats. We also ate, played laser tag, etc.

All of the girls went back to the Jamie's apartment where we put in Life We Know It and promptly fell asleep, or at least I did haha.

Saturday, after a rousing girls vs. boys basketball game, the girls headed to the park with some Chicken Salad Chick (and Zaxby's for Jamie M.).

We walked around and "awwed" over people's dogs and played on the fitness equipment.

That night, we got ready and went to dinner to celebrate Jamie M's birthday at the Creole Shack.

And also that night, Philip and Graham came to see us which made me happy!

I'm so sad that this weekend was over. It was so good for all of us to be together and of course, the beautiful weather didn't hurt!

I have been a bit under the weather today. I almost didn't go to class when I woke up feeling like death, but I sucked it up and went. I have been laying around ever since I got home though, with the exception of taking a bath. So thankful for a sweet boy who is bringing me soup soon!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!
