This weekend "the five"went camping, or as we like to call it: cabining. We decided we should all go camping at the very end of last summer when we took a day trip to Oak Mountain State Park and loved it. There wasn't really a good weekend to go during this past school year so we decided to go at the very beginning of the summer before it got too hot. Then we decided that we'd probably all be happier staying in a cabin rather than a tent. I'm glad we made that decision. We left Friday afternoon around 4:30 pm and after a few wrong turns and picture stops along the way we finally made it to Cheaha State Park around 8 pm that night. It was supposed to take an hour and a half. Go figure that one. Only us. Friday night we got settled in, had a dance party, played cards and relaxed. Saturday it was pretty cloudy but we got some "hiking" (very easy trails) in before lunch. While we were back at the cabin eating lunch it rained for a couple of hours so we entertained ourselves playing cards once again. It finally stopped raining and we got to go back outside until it was time to come in and start fixing supper. After supper we attempted to build a fire, first in the fire ring outside, then in the fireplace inside. Both were unsuccessful haha. We ended up making smore's in the microwave. Sunday morning we loaded up in the pouring rain and head back to Birmingham. We stopped at Newk's before going home- always yummy. It was a really fun weekend minus Lizzie's fall haha. I've been in kind of an earthy mood lately so this trip just fit right in with that. Now that I'm home and I don't have Pre-Teaching anymore I HAVE to organize the mess that is my room and that has become our whole house! But first here are some of my favorite pictures from this weekend!
