UGH

...a really ironic title considering that I have a lot of fun things to post about, but the UGH is for the fact that I cannot add pictures. And it's really annoying. UGH. But I'm going to go ahead and post about recent happenings in my life even without the pictures because I know I will want to remember these.

Starting with my birthday which was almost 2 weeks ago, that night I went to CT's choir concert, opened my presents and my mom made a cookie cake. It was delish. Thursday, my friends took me to Firebird's for lunch. I was planning to go out to eat with my family that Friday night for my birthday, but Friday during the day, our doorbell rang and who was it? PHILIP PALMER! I have never been more surprised. I had no idea he was coming up here that weekend. I had asked him if he could come see me that weekend after my birthday and he said he had to work. After I got over that surprise, my mom gave me a late birthday present- tickets for Philip and I to Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw that night!! I was so excited!! We had a great time.

The next night was my cousin's senior dinner at church so we all went. It was really nice and we went to Yogurt Mountain afterwards and then back to our house to play the Game of Things, which if you've never played, is really really fun.

Last week, I worked Tuesday and Thursday evenings, went to eat with some work friends and last but not least, Lizzie and I attempted to tube down the Cahaba River- twice.

We've been wanting to do this for years and finally decided to try. After extensive research, we ended up finding a place where you can rent tubes. This place has no website and the only thing that we found when we googled it was people's blogs talking about it. So, in case my blog comes up on someone's google search of "tubing the cahaba"- it is at a place in Centreville, Alabama off Highway 82 (I think). The place is called Adventure Shoals.

To make a long long story short, we went all the way out there and the guy wasn't there, but his friend was and told us to come back Friday. Well, it stormed Friday so we couldn't go then either. Hopefully, one day it'll work out and we can finally go.

I think that brings us to this weekend. Saturday we gave my cousin a graduation fiesta at our house. It was my family plus Philip (who came up again this weekend) and the cousins' family, a few of my cousin's friends and Lizzie! We rented a HUGE inflatable slip-n-slide thing and put it in our yard and had the food catered from Salsarita's (shocker). It was so so so much fun. CT said he wished we could rent one of those inflatables every weekend haha. My parents didn't go for that.

Sunday after church we invited a bunch of people over and did the slip-n-slide again. I am so sore today from running and jumping and using a bunch of muscles I never use haha. It was so worth it though.

Who's excited for The Bachelorette tonight?? I AM!! Lizzie and I are making a trip down to T-Town to watch it with her rooms, Lynnlee. Beforehand, we are trying Nothing But Noodles since we've been wanting to try it for a while!

In other news, I've started furniture shopping and I found a chest of drawers that I'm going to get a mirror for and use as a dresser. My comforter also came in so I'm making a little progress as far as apartment decorating goes.

Well, I guess I will end this lengthy, boring post. If anyone read this far, I hope you have a splendid week!!

  2. Go to TJMaxx and Homegoods and Ross for mirrors (or on that special trip to Ikea which you should totally make). They have reasonably priced mirrors that are much cuter than the expensive ones at department stores and such.
